Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw

To many people, the Palace is a only a symbol of the Communist era in Poland. While that is true, in my childhood, it was a wonderful, happy place.
It was an escape from the gray poverty Poland endured in the Soviet-dominated years. In the Palace, I and my friends learned to make model airplanes and saw our first movies
and, at Christmas, received the precious gift of a fresh orange.
In 2008, I was invited to Poland to take pinhole pictures and write a memoir for the book, My Palace.

These and additional images from Mr. Kazimierski’s Palace series are available online as fine art prints through Hudson River Fine Art
as is his book My Palace/Moj Palac with over 125 photographs and text in English and Polish.
